KLOIBER

Looking for any beginning information for an e-mail friend from Austria. Her husband is looking for any information for a John KLOIBER, born in Austria (acc. to Naturalization documnet) 1876, arrived in NY June 1898, applied for naturalization 1 Nov 1900.

Here is a snippet from the request letter:

"...we had an uncle who immigrated to the USA. This uncle saved money and bought a ticket for his brother (Walter's father) to let him also come to America. The two brothers had agreed that Walter's father would come to America as soon as his brother had sent him a ticket. When the ticket came Walter's father did not go because his wife said no. His brother had saved the money for the ticket for nothing. He was so disappointed that this was the end of the relationship of the two brothers. Nobody spoke again on this sad situation.

Walter now wanted to find this uncle. But he does not know his Christian name. The uncle was born in Salnau, Parkfried, now the Tchech Republic, and immigrated then to America. His name was Kloiber. He was born around 1870. That's all what Walter knows. Not much. I tried to look for a list of Kloibers in Parkfried or Salnau and I found a list with the name but it was a list of the dead of WW I and WW II."
