I haven't looked at the forums for months, but today I've been surfing and came upon your query. I have something that may interest you, although it won't add much to your family tree.
In the 1970's I got a batch of old letters out of the old HERMAN homestead (gone now) on Highway 64 just outside the Antigo city limits. The farm was started by my great-great grandparents Joseph & Barbara BLAHNA HERMAN in the early 1880's. Most of the letters were from Barbara's brother's family in Mirovice, Bohemia, but some were from their son Frank BLAHNA writing to his Uncle Joseph HERMAN in Antigo. They are all in Czech.
Anyway, Frank BLAHNA was a tailor, and one of his letters from 1892 was written on stationery from his employer, G. ULRICH. I don't know where the original of the letter is right now; all I have is a photocopy that I made translation notes on.
Anyway, at the top is has printed Antigo, Wis., and Antigo is crossed out and Milwaukee written in and then the date which looks like “ot 17 1892” (very clear except for that “ot”).
Under that is printed “Bought of G. ULRICH, Merchant Tailor, Dealer in Ready Made Clothing and Furnishing Goods”.
Then comes a hand written letter.
Frank was rather an odd duck. In a later letter (1898), he says he is no longer working for ULRICH and that ULRICH was going to visit in Antigo, so if he talks about Frank, Uncle should tell Frank what he says.
A few years later Frank just disappeared. Nobody knows what happened to him.

Joseph and Barbara HERMAN had seven sons. Their son James was a tailor in Antigo for about 50 years: He was succeeded as a tailor by his son Lee HERMAN.
James started out working for M.J. BELOW before opening his own shop. I have 2 old photos: one with Jim and 5 other tailors standing in front of the M.J. BELOW Merchant Taylor shop (wood sidewalks) and the other the interior of Jim's shop taken in the late 1890's. This photo shows Mary VESLAK FOGELTANZ, Jim HERMAN, Mike SVATON, Francis BAHR, & 2 unidentified people.
I hope you have luck at the historical society. I haven't been there for about 30 years. We hoped to visit last summer but ran out of time.
