I am not sure if we have a common relationship or not, but
my Elizabeth Ingram was chr 9 April 1799 in Gwinear to
Tobias and Elizabeth (SAMPSON) INGRAM.
Elizabeth Ingram lost her first husband, John LUKE, after
a short marriage. In 1828 She married William POLLARD, and
later they came to Iowa County, Wisconsin.
Elizabeth and William did have two of their children chr
in Crowan(Elizabeth 1833, and Richard 1840.
As there are several Tobias Ingram's in Gwinear, I am not
sure just which one is my man. The census points to her
birth as between 1760 and 1766 in Camborne.
I found 6 children that appear to be thiers in Gwinear.
John, Elizabeth, Anne/Nanny, Mary, Tobias, and Christopher.
I believe that the John Ingram who married Mary OATEY, is
likely part of this family. Thier daughter, Mary RAPSON,
is buried in Cobb, Wis. Another daughter, married a
Thomas SIMONS in Gwinear.
In Camborne there are only a couple of Elizabeths of this
age group. From what I can find, it is likely that my
Elizabeth SAMPSON, was the daughter of Hugh SAMPSON/SAMSON
and Elizabeth UREN. The IGI shows Hugh Sampson, 1739, as
the son of Hugh SAMPSON and Jane WILLIAMS. Jane died in 1746.
I believe this Hugh was born 1710, and may actually be the
same man who married Elizabeth Uren, as there are two deaths
for a Hugh Sampson (1779 and 1782). The Hugh who md Jane
Williams, likely remarried, as there are three children
to a Hugh Sampson form 1748-1753.(This would be outside
Camborne for the marriage).
I have not figured out all the lines......so many seem
to cross......that I need some wills or probates to be
Could we have any common kin?
