Looking for Schmidt,Ziemer,Weitsenhagen,Grippenthrauch ancestors. My greatgrandparents were John Ferdinand Schmidt b.Jan 24,1863,St.Petersburg,Russia,d.Aug 2,1935,Faribault,MN, marrried Nov 22,1891,Iron Ridge,WI,to Wilhelmina Ziemer,b.Oct 2,1867,Pommerania,Germany,d. Feb 8,1935,Faribault. She was the daughter of Ferdinand Ziemer and Wilhelmina,Grippenthrauch (or Gripp).

John Ferdinand Schmidt's parents were August F. Schmidt b.Nov 23,1825,Pommerania,d.March 29,1911,Beaver Dam,WI but buried in Faribault,MN, married Wilhelmina Weitsenhagen b.Oct.17,1824,Alsace-Lorraine(which was part of France when she was born, but was part of Germany 1870-1918). She died June 1,1897,Faribault. She was the daughter of Gottfried Weitsenhagen and Helene Barkman.

August F. Schmidt was the son of August Schmidt who died June 11,1896 in Wisc. but was buried in Faribault.
