From what I can see, there wasn't a Peter Casey in Crawford Co. in the 1860 census.

There is a Peter Casey who served in Co. H, 43rd Wisconsin Volunteer Infantry from Seneca, Crawford, WI. He enlisted 1 Sep 1864 and was mustered out 24 Jun 1865.

There is a Peter Casey, age 40, born Ireland, living in Seneca, Crawford, WI Pg. 535 in the 1870 census.

In the 1890 Veterans and Widows Census, there is a Peter Casey (deceased) with widow Mary living in Seneca.

A pension file exists at the National Archives for this Peter Casey. Peter filed on 29 Aug 1877. His widow, Mary, filed (after his death) on 22 Jul 1887.

Hope this helps out. And, no, I'm not related, just a helpful Crawford Co. researcher.
