Henry Clay - Kentucky, Wisconsin & Iowa
Posted by: Roger Whiting (ID *****8793) Date: November 23, 2008 at 06:30:57

Seeking family information about Henry Clay born 18 March 1870 at Kentucky iaw Wisconsin death certificate. Henry lived in/about Prairie du Chien, Wisconsin and McGregor, Iowa, from 1910 through his death of 6 August 1947 which occurred at the Beaumont Hospital, Prairie du Chien, WI. This information is derived from his death certificate which is filed with the Crawford County, WI, Register of Deeds office in Prairie du Chien. Apparently, he lived alone as a "fisherman" on the Mississippi River, had never applied for a Social Security number, had not registered for the WW I draft and no obituary was printed in papers from either of these communities. After his death, he was buried in the "pauper's" section of the Prairie du Chien cemetery.
