Dear Mr. Melville,
Could you please look up some info on my grandparents who lived in either Chippewa Co or Eau Claire during the mid 1800's to early 1900's. Their names were Martin Lorenzo Smith and Emma Ann Noteware (Smith) and they had at least 3 children Elizabeth, Sheldon and George Alfred. I would just like SOME record that they lived there, i.e. death record, cemetary record, birth record, etc. I have researched with the help of my daughter for the last year and have found nothing. My father only talked about his childhood once in a while and he talked about fishing on the Chippewa River and watching the beavers do their own fishing. I know that Sheldon was a Sunday school teacher at a church and drowned at a church picnic trying to save another person, but neither lived. My father, George Alfred, was born Feburary 2, 1881. I live in Texas and would someday like to come to Chippewa Falls. I would appreciate any help you could give me.

Thank you,

Laurence Smith
