DOUGLAS/LYON-'The Gentle Menominee'

Tryint to find more identity of Mrs. Sue (LYON) DOUGLAS (b. abt. 1833, of NY) and in 1925, of Green Bay, Brown Co., WI. I did find on 1880 Census, WI, Brown Co., Ft. Howard: DOUGLAS, Susan, 48y, b. NY, widow. Children listed: DOUGLAS - Scott M; Harriet E; Catherine T.
Previous Household is her father, Alanson F. LYON (b. ca. 1799) and his wf. Harriet.

I have an old original newspaper obituary she wrote in Sep 1925, in regards to the death of Erastus ROOT (1843-1925) of Green Bay, Brown Co., WI. "The Green...ess-Gazette. Saturday Evening, September 5, 1925." She ends the informative obit stating: "I am 92...Mrs. Sue Lyon Douglas ...Once know as 'The Gentle Menominee'."
Was she a writer for newspaper? She does, by reading the obit, have connection with the ROOT family in NY and WI.
Thanks for any help! Sharon
