Yes, Whyte or White is a long-standing tinker name - White-iron Smith is tinsmith... I would be interested in hearing more, knowing of various travelling people and also having a blacksmith (the other side) 'Whyte' in my near family line. Please get in touch - I'll try to email you also. Jenny
