Whyte (Quhyt) family, Forfar, Angus

My family has a long history associated with Forfar and the surroundings. My great grandfather was provost of Forfar and the family owned the local Tannery. I have traced family history back to 1642 (a marriage contract) - when the name was written Quhyt. So i have learned not to put too much on today's spelling in tracing family history. I am interested in any other possible local family contacts.
