Diana, I'm trying this one more time as it did not post the first time I attempted. I believe I have some info. on the Whyland family you're looking for. In the 1900 census for the Town of Kendall, Orleans County, NY, you can find Joseph Whyland, his wife Mary, and their two daughters Florence and Frances. Joseph's father John F. Whyland is also residing in the household, age 84. By the time of the 1915 state census for the same town, Joseph and Mary have two other children listed, a son Lester and another daughter, Ruth. I am researching this family because I believe Mary Lenton/Lenten may have been a stepdaughter of Gabriel HART, who lived in Orleans Co. Gabriel was born in Westchester Co., NY and I am researching the Westchester Co. HARTS who migrated from Westchester and then settled in Tioga and Orleans Counties, NY. Due to the fact that Mary Lenton/Lenten WHYLAND's father is listed as having been born in England (in the 1900 Kendall census) I know that Gabriel HART could not have been her birth father.
