Don't know if there is any connection but my Grandmother was a Whybrow. Her name was Ellen and her parents were William Whybrow and Martha Kirkin. She was born in Goff's Oak (part of Cheshunt). One of the coincidences is that all of her married life she lived at 4, Beamish Road, Edmonton.
Her married name was Pidgeon. She was quite a bit older than your father, since she was born in the late 1800's.
I do know that she had relatives in Somerset.
