Chris With the proviso that anyone at any time can fib, forget or not understand the question being asked, the most accurate info generally lies in an original document such as birth/marriage/death certificate or will for example. On-line sources such as FreeBDM, IGI or the UK 1901 census provide research clues but can sometimes suffer from having been inaccurately transcribed from the original source - the 1901 census is a good example of spelling errors. See if your immediate family have certificates of their families and try and link that info with a census. Perhaps also ask this list if anyone has links with, say, your great grandfather? Good luck.
