Jeptha Whorton who owned land jointly with Alexander Wallace, 1840 Benton Co.,Alabama were brothers-in-law, as Jeptha Whorton's wife, Dolly Malone was the sister of Alexander's wife, Artemissa Malone. They also had a third sibling, named Miranda Clinton Malone. All named children after each other according to later censuses.
Jeptha moved to Arkansas somewhere between this census and 1850 as he and wife, Dorothy are in the 1850 census of Madison Co., Arkansas where they both died.
Alexander Wallace lived 1850 Tallapoosa Co., Alabama; 1860 Mobile Co., Albama and 1870 he had died, but wife Artemissa still alivein 1880 census of Copiah Co., Ms. where they had lived since 1870.
Miranda Clinton Malone was living in 1850 Gwinnett Co., Georgia (having married there to a Nancy Drummond-although Marriage license gotten in Walton Co., Georgia) and by 1860 he had gone to Clark Co., Arkansas where he had died.
My husband descends from Alexander and Artemissa Malone Wallace who married 12 May 1830 in Newton Co., Georgia.
In 1819 the three children as orphans of Daniel Malone had drew land in 1820 land lottery out of Jackson Co., Ga. land which recently had been apportioned into Walton Co., Georgia-won lands in Walton Co., Ga. 1st dist. which by 1827 became Newton Co., Georgia.Their mother was a Sansom and Miranda C. Malone is seen with William Whorton who is likely the person who married Dolly Sansom in 1813 Jackson Co., Georgia. The three orphans uncle, Micajah Sansom, Jr. sold the lands of Jeptha and Dolly. The other two sold the land themselves. We do not suspect that Dolly Sansom Whorton who married William Whorton is the w/o Jeptha.
