I know you posted this a long time ago...Hopefully, this will reach you.I wish I had the info you are looking for, but maybe I can give you something...
John Adolphus Evans married Elmira Whorton Feb 4, 1840.He was also married to Martha Jane Fore (no date listed).
By 1848 they had at least three children, all daughters. Ridley Ann Evans was born 1843 GA.
Bernetta Letitia Evans was born 1845 GA.
Susan Evans was born 1847 GA. Her middle name may have been Francis.
Sometime after Susan's birth, the parents and three daughters began their migration.
A fourth daughter named Fredonia Evans was born May 1849 in a covered wagon (possibly in TN) while the family was enroute to their destination, believed to be TX or LA.
The fifth child, William Thomas Evans, was born in a covered wagon along the White River of Arkansas in 1851.
The family reached Bienville Parish, LA at least by 1853 when another daughter was born named Sarah Elizabeth Evans. She died after her fifth birthday in 1858 in Sparta, Bienville Parish, LA.
The story is that the family was planning to move to TX before her death. When she died, they decided to stay in Bienville Parish, LA.
A brother of John Evans, Hiram W.Evans (1822-1863), ended up in Bienville Parish, LA as well. He and his wife Mary Ann HUCKABAY/HUCKABY (1829-1864) both died in Sparta, Bienville Parish, LA. Their children who may have all moved with them to Louisiana but some eventually moved on to Texas, with Mary Susan, Thomas Green, Nancy Elmira, Minerva Caroline, John Turner, William Franklin and James Hiram Evans.
William Franklin Evans (1847-1930) married his first cousin (above) Fredonia Evans in 1867 in Sparta, Bienville Parish, LA. He died in Mineral Wells, TX and both him and Fredonia are buried at the Roby Cemetary in Fisher County, TX.
I have more info if you need it.Just let me know!
By-the-way, John A Evan's sister (Elizabeth Evans Whorton) was married to my G-G-G Grandfather.
