I was so happy to find this Whobrey message board and your posting of 11-29-01 in reply to Chuck Terrel. So much information! I couldn't believe it, but there it was! I have been searching for the family of Dorothy Whobrey (m:Stumf) b.Corvalis,OR Jan.29,1921. She is my mother-in-law. I'm married to her son, Jerry Stackhouse. She is quite old and is not doing well, and is very pleased with the fact I'm searching for her family, finally! I started taking notes many years ago while her mother, Florence Whobrey (m:Patrick) was still alive, but didn't do too much with it as I was spending time looking for my own family. As I read through the other replies, I read a posting by Tamara Flores. Guess what? She is my husbands cousin! Her dad, Dean Whobrey, is Dorothy Whobrey Stumf's sister! Katrina, I'm stuck at Mathew(Matthew)Whobrey. The Oregon 1870 census said he was 65 at the date of census, which estimates out his birth date around 1805/06. Also, it says he was born in Kentucky. There are many, many Whobreys in Kentucky! I don't want to use your information without your permission, but could I use it as a worksheet to gather my facts? It really would be a big help!Rosalee
