Hi Jeff and Cathy,
I'm amazed to have gotten such a quick response to my little trial balloon on the Whitworths. I've been an inactive researcher for a number of years (roughly corresponding to the time small boys have been in my household). As a result, while I have a lot of info squirreled away I have to dig it out and get back up to speed on my Whitworths. Thanks for the tip about Cheshirebmd. I wasn't aware of it and even if I'd known it wouldn't have occurred to me to look for my Lancs family there. I checked out Lesley's very impressive site. No connection there but I'm sure I recognize the family from all the census rolls I've read. I'm not sure if I'd determined Samuel's parentage. Likely I found something on the IGI but I don't know for sure. I'll start digging! Please be patient. Good to hear from you.
