thanks for help - unfortunately, I have very little info. Joseph was my great-grandfather who came to the states in the latter part of the ninetenth century (?) I do know that he worked in the Peppermill mills in Saco/Biddeford Maine, his wife was tragically killed in a house fire. they had a son (my grandfather) named Walter who was born in 1903 and died in 1994. Joseph, as hard as it can be to imagine, was run over by a train while walking to work (I do not have the date). I remember my dad saying that Joseph's brother Robert most likely was in the hardware business, but he also remembered that one of the relatives had something to do with making or selling bicylces. not sure if you can get any leads from this, but any help would be greatly appreciated.
