William and Ann actually had 9 children, many of whom died very young. John Whitwell (later John Griffin Griffin) became a baron and inherited Audley End Estate in Essex. His brother was Matthew Whitwell, who was a Rear-Admiral. Their GGG (etc) Grandfather was Thomas Audley (first owner of Audley End), who was Henry VIII's (8th) lawyer and close friend. Thomas Audley was also related to Henry VII (7th) through marriage.

William and Ann are my GGG (etc.) grandparents.
