Hi Isobel, I would be interested in information regarding the area later, but at this point in time am really interested in obtaining Thomas Smith's birth certificate. Would you have any ideas as to where I could apply. He was born in Riccarton Ayrshire and enlisted to go into the Cameron Highlanders at Leven Fifeshire on 11/5/1915. He died of war wounds on 18/10/1915. He is buried in Choques War Cemetary, France. I emailed the Ayrshire Council some time ago but did not get a reply. If I can't get his birth certificate maybe I can get his death certificate. It would be appreciated if you could give me any advice.

Ragards
Gloria
