Whitton-Kerswill South Africa 1882 - 1941
Mabel Edith Eleanor Whitton was my husband's grandmother. She was the daughter of Harry Whitton. She married Edward James Kerswill in London in July 1906 at the age of 24. Edward was a magistrate in the Transvaal, South Africa.
We have no information about Mabel or her family as she died before my husband was born, except that she was often referred to as 'The Irish Granny'. We are particularly interested in where she was born, and if in fact it was in Ireland.
It would seem from Wanda's post that she may have been born in Riverton SA, but since she was called 'The Irish Granny', perhaps her parents were in Ireland for her birth??
If anyone can give me more information about Mabel or her family we would greatly appreciate it.
