Not sure that you have this information already or not, but your Howard Whitton appears to be Howard G. Whitton/Whitten who married Minerva L. Keeney 11/29/1849, Anderson County, TN.
Minerva L. Keeney was the daughter of Joseph Keeney and Sarah Leach.
Do not have information on the parents of Howard G. Whitten, possible father is John Whitten.
I am not searching for either Whitten/Whitton or Keeney's; just thought this might help.
