Hers a long shot from my whittingtons...
I have a Caswell Wayne Whittington (1855-1882) born in Pike CO Alabama son of James whittington and Aisley Flowers. They were from North Carolina and moved to Alabama. My Whittingtons moved to Texas and dropped a "T" from their name,
I could not find your Annie in my tree but this may give you a direction to look.
