Obituaries (02/11/05)
DOWNIE _ Helen Fraser (nee Whittet) born September 28, 1920 in Enderby, passed away suddenly February 8, 2005 in Langley. Predeceased by her loving husband Bob, brother Norman, stepbrother David and stepsister Ina; Helen will be lovingly remembered by her family: son Brian (Kathy); daughter Pat (Norris); grandchildren Fraser, Stephen, Brett, Stacey (Peter), Todd and Kelli; great-grandchildren Kelsea, Arlen and Mikaela; other family members and friends. Helen's working career began at an early age, working for the Bank of Montreal in Vancouver. After raising her children, she began another career working alongside her husband Bob at Davidson & Sons Customs Brokers until their retirement in 1986. Helen was a long time supporter of scouting as a soft spoken and hard working volunteer. A service to celebrate Helen's life will be held Tuesday, February 15 at 2:00pm at Henderson's Funeral Home, 20786 Fraser Highway, Langley. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to the Heart & Stroke Foundation. The family would like to extend their thanks to Dr. Clifford Allen, the staff at Langley Hospital, the staff at Helen's home at Harrison Landing and the girls at Langley Home Support for all their loving care and support.
