I'm responding to your message because you seem to have done some research. I'm looking for information about my G-grandmother. Her name was Mary T. Whittenberger b-1889, she married William H. Hill b-1866, who was a widower with 6 children from his first marriage, although they would have been grown by the time he married Mary.

My grandmother was born in 1924 and on her birth certificate it has mothers maiden name listed as Mary Whittenberger born Syracuse PA. and on William Obit it says he married Miss Mary Whittenberger. I don't think there ever was a Syracuse PA, not sure if she was born in NY or PA. She had a daughter when she married William, her name was Thelma Whittenberger b-1909 or 1910. My g-Uncle was born in 1916, so they must have been married sometime between 1910 & 1916.

All of the information that I have on William & Mary have them in East Palestine, Columbiana Co, Ohio, which is right on the boarder with Beaver Co. Pennsylvinia, Williams family moved back and forth between Beaver Co PA and Columbiana Co Oh, He died in 1937 and I think that she died in 1964. He was 22 years older then she was. Everything that I have leads me to believe that Whittenberger was her maiden name, she would have been about 20 when Thelma was born, and this along with the fact that I can't place her with any Whittenberger family in this area makes me wonder if she was married to a Whittenberger and possibly was a widow herself or divorced.

If someone has any information on her I would appreciate it. She wasn't born yet during the 1880 census and was married to William during the 1920 and 1930 census, which I have, but If someone could find her in the 1890 or 1900 census with her parents this would help me so much.

Thanks Amanda
