I am researching the James and Abigail Joslin family who resided in Whitley County, Indiana 1838-1860. They had six children, the last of whom was Mary L. Joslin born about 1843. After 1860 Abigail, her son Edwin and daughter Mary moved to Henry County, Illinois. It was there that Abigail married a Samuel Pingree in 1870. There is also a record of a Mary Joslin marrying J C Whited in 1862. I've found Mary and John Whitehead/Whitted in the 1870 and 1880 census records in Henry County, Illinois with children Henry, Dora, Freddie, and Nellie (no William). So, this sounds like the same family you are looking for. I'm trying to determine if Mary Joslin Whitted is the daughter of James and Abigail Joslin. Any information on this family would be appreciated.
