The earliest Whitted records that I have found for our line are in the 1760's in Craven Co (District), SC. The area later became Chester and Fairfield Counties. They continue to have records in that area until the 1820's. Gideon Whitted is my earliest proved ancestor. His birth date is estimated based on census records as 1770-1775 and probably in the Fairfield/Chester area. The location is based on his daughter's responses in the 1880 census.
