Whitted Name: how far back can you go?

I have found references to Whitted in the 1891 Wales census and Pallots marriage index 1780-1837 no specific year. I have never found the Whitted spelling in England.

Has anyone traced their Whitted ancestry to any other country before the United States? My branch, according to a biography from the mid 1800's were" Welsh Quakers who came over with William Penn" . My oldest known ancestor is Thomas Whitted of Orange County, NC.
