Will Book A, Campbell County, Georgia transcribed by Dee Sallenbach at the Family Hist Library in Salt Lake City, film 409,880: Gideon Whitted, Wife Mary, Sons William and Davis Collins Whitted, Daughters: Elizabeth Guyer, Nancy Guyer, Mary Guyer, Louisa G. King, Margaret Neal, Julia Smith, Executors Wife Mary and Son-in-law William Smith, Witnesses Martin Kolb and Jesse M. Kolb, Will signed 19 May 1834. Execuctors appeared in court and filed as the law directs on 4th May 1835. I checked the original will book and the name is definately Whitted. The Georgia Will book lists Gideon as Whitten which is not correct.
So now we have Davis C. Whitted's father and mother (assuming Gideon only married once) and seven siblings. Although this is not my direct line, I feel sure that my Gideon Whitted of Choctaw County, Alabama and his father James Whitted are probably related.
I would like to get a list of the children of Davis C. and the families of any of the other children.
Hope this new information will be exciting for everyone who has been looking for this family.
