You gave a very good summary of Giles, I will summarize what is known about Eliza Ann Allison. William and Margaret Allison were married circa 1815 and had had three daughters by the 1820 census. One of the daughters I have not been able to account for, she was born about 1816 to 1818. They moved from Cabell County, W. V. to Monroe County in 1838. Most of the Allison records in Monroe County are for the family of William Allison. Eliza Ann Allison is potentially one of the daughters born before 1820. I am trying to determine if she is one of the daughters, that possible retained her family name and had children out of wedlock. The second possibility is she married and Allison, who died young. Although, I am not aware of a male member to this or previous William Allison generations that would be in the same age bracket as Eliza, that could possibly be her spouse. Her two children were born after arriving in Missouri circa 1840. In the 1850 census she is living near William and Margaret in Jackson Township. Monroe County records state that Rebecca Jane Allison daughter of Eliza married Joseph Whitaker on Aug. 7, 1862. The following August, Rebecca’s mother Eliza married Joseph’s father (Giles). I assume Eliza and Joseph died in the 1870’s, Rebecca and her son, Forrest, are living with Giles and Matilda, including Rebecca’s half brother Thomas.

You stated in your summary that Eliza Ann last name was St. Johns, could I ask the source of this information. It would be a big help in determining the parents of Eliza Ann. William’s only brother, married a Mary Jane Johns in Lawrence County, Kentucky in 1820’s.
