Need ancestry of George WHITTAKER, born approximately 1812 in either Bury, Lancashire, England (1851 England Census) or Haslingden, Lancashire, England (1861 England Census). In both censuses George and his wife Sarah were living in Ashton-under-Lyne, Lancashire, England. (Sarah was born approximately 1814 in Tideswell, Derbyshire, England; surname unknown to me.)
George and Sarah had four children of whom I am aware:
1. Henry, born approximately 1837 in Newton, Cheshire, England (1851 English Census)
2. William, born approximately 1844 also in Newton(1851 English Census)
3. Charles Edward, born approximately 1846 in Hurst, Lancashire, England (1851 English Census)
4. Abraham, born June 1850 in hamlet of Hurst, Civil Parish of As(h)ton-under-Lyne, Lancashire, England (son William Washington WHITTAKER's birth record)
Any information on George and Sarah WHITTAKER (occasionally seen spelled as WHITAKER) would be greatly appreciated!
