This is a rather interesting family as they seem very difficult to find in Kentucky records.
Here is the marriage record for Thomas Spurlock and Minta Whitt as transcribed by FamilySearch.
KY Marriages - 24 Oct 1902 Thos Sperlock (age 24) and Minta Whitt (age 18) in Morehead, Rowan Co.
They appear in the 1910 census as:
1910 Olive Hill, Carter Co., KY census Burrel Spurlock H/H age 35 b. KY, F/M b. KY with wife Minnie Spurlock age 26 b. KY, F/M b. KY. Married 8 yrs, 2 children, 2 living. Children (Mathew E 5 KY, George R 3 KY).
This is the correct couple in spite of the names Burrell and Minnie as KY death records show the 4 Jan 1913 Carter Co. death of George R Spurlock and the 28 Sep 1916 death of an infant Marie Spurlock with their parents as Thomas Spurlock and Minta/Mittie Whitt.
I could not locate Thomas Spurlock in the 1920 census but he is in the 1930 census with a new wife and the above son Mathew as:
1930 Frozen, Fleming Co., KY census Tom Spurlock H/H age 56 b. KY, F/M b. KY with wife Pearl age 40 b. KY, F/M b. KY. Married 1st at ages 30/15. Son Mat (26 KY) and his wife Mary (15 KY) are in the H/H.
Thomas Spurlock died 26 Aug 1935 in Goddard, Fleming Co., KY. He was born 9 May 1872 in Rowan Co. s/o John Spurlock and Margaret Purvis according to the death record and was still married to Pearl (see KY Death Records).
I could not conclusively determine who Thomas Spurlock was (unable to locate him or his parents in 1880 or 1900).
Mintie Whitt appears in the 1900 census with her parents and siblings as:
1900 Morehead, Rowan Co., KY census James Whitt H/H age 60 (Apr 1840) b. KY, F/M b. KY with wife Annie age 38 (May 1862) b. KY, F/M b. KY. Married 18 yrs, 5 children, 5 living. Children (Matt Apr 1875, Roland Mar 1878, Minta Feb 1884, Alta Apr 1885 all b. KY).
Annie was evidently not the 1st wife of James Whitt and I'm not really sure who this James Whitt was as I could not conclusively locate him, any marriage records, or the children Matt and Roland in 1880 or earlier or after 1900.
