I notice that no recent posts have been made to this site ...hope I am not too late to get some help. I am looking for parents of Henry Patterson Whitsett b. 1831, near Graham, N.C. He was my great, great grandfather and he is a big brick wall. On some of his Civil War records that I came across, he states that he was born in Orange County(now Alamance)near Graham. In 1850 he appeared in Perry County, Alabama, near Marion, alone apparently. He remained there until his death in 1915. There is another Henry Patterson Whitsett born in Orange County about 5 years after my Henry but this Henry never left the area. I find lots of Whitsetts and lots of Pattersons in that area but I have never been able to tie anything down to my Henry Patterson Whitsett. I desperately need help. Thanks, Lynda
