I was in an old cemetery near Scooba, MS recently and I found the grave of Martha Ann Saffold Whitsett. The headstone is down and partially covered, and all I could read was "Martha Ann Whitsett formerly Saffold a native of Georgia". Nearby was a footstone with "M.W." on it. The plot was surrounded by a wrought iron fence. I don't know the official name of the cemetery, but Carters, Turners, and Ashfords are buried there, along with others who lived in that area. It is about 3 miles east of Scooba, off of Hwy. 16, on north side of road, behind a house, at the intersection of Hwy. 16 and Dozier Rd.
