You do pose interesting questions. I would like to see some documentation for Lucy, but I've always considered it reasonable that she was a Ramsey. The Ramseys and Whitsetts apparently were close nor only in Missouri but when they were in Kentucky (or so I believe; I'll have to go digging through my notes to see where I came up with that). Three of John's siblings married Ramseys. I'll be going to Lexington MO a couple of times this summer; have you any suggestions about what I could look for?
