After the death of my grandfather, my mother and grandmother (Ida Magdelene Whitmer Boswell) returned to West Virginia and lived with Ida's father and mother, David and Mary Etta (Whetzel) Whitmer. David's farm ws up on the ridge in Lost River. My mother was about 2 when they moved there and lived there until she was about 13. She remembers going to church with her grandparents and that they were Dunkards. As for the family origins being in St. Gallen, I also have been looking for verification of this. Unfortunately, I live on the West Coast and my trips back to the East are limited.
