I'm looking for the parents of John L. Whitlock, b. sometime btw 1818-1823 (census data is fun!) in New Jersey. He married Rebecca (I believe Phillips) and eventually landed in Coon Iowa. Children are:
Samuel b. 1844
Jane M. 1847
Wesley b. 1849
They may have had a second round of children b. in the 1860's as the 1880 census shows the following:
Alveritta b. 1863
John W. b. 1871
Rosella b. 1879
Though I find it somewhat astounding that Rebecca would be having children as late as 1879 as she was b. ca. 1826. Therefore John and Rosella may be grandchildren.
