Interesting that I find the Whitfield name in KY relatively close to Louisville.I have a mystery that possibly you may have clues to help unravel.
Is there a Jackson Whitfield in your woodpile that would have been born October 1910.I first find him in Louisville in 1936 and cannot go back for information on him. It's as though he was hiding something. Stories he told were that his 1) family (m/f/siblings) was killed in a train/auto accident when he was a teenager. There were no siblings to either parent so he was placed in an institution that he ran away from.2) He spoke of being in the military (which isn't true), but possibly it was the CCC and being a cook. His trade or occupation was that of blacksmith/welder.
He died in 1952 in Pennsylvania. He was my father and I loved him dearly, but would love to know what he was hiding.Any help or suggestions will be appreciated.
