Thanks, Jerry, for your information.I was wondering, have you been to Chetham Library, Manchester, England?I have not;and, I will be pleased if you or someone else will find out and let other people know what Whitfield pedigree is outlined in this manuscript that is housed there:(A.6.1) Palmer, John (1785-1846), "The descent of the family of Whitfield, of Whitfield Hall in Northumberland, from the Saxon earls of Mercia, and the Norman families of Meschines, D'strivers, Egaine, Baslie & Espee".Mr. Palmer used various sources and "authorities".The text of the volume contains occasional black, white and colored coats of arms.Chetham Library acquired the manuscript between 1862-1883.The librarian can not copy this manuscript as it has been rebound tightly.By the way, Mr. Palmer's mother was a Whitfield.Again, I THANK YOU for your information;I will have to take some time to let all of your information sink into my mind before I can reply with any intelligence.
