I'm afraid I don't have a lot of information, but I do have some regarding the spelling of the last name. I am investigating a different branch of what I think is the same tree...where I have found a couple of J.P. Whitesells; however, it is spelled WEITZEL. The first one I found is John Paul Weitzel 1715/16 - 1797. He had a son, John Peter Weitzel 1746-1815. This information is on the World Family Tree CD, Volume #4, Tree #3978.
