Brian. My line goes back 200 years to Stonehouse Lanarkshire the generation before to Dalserf and the one before that to Bathgate I also think there is a tie up with a male Whitelaw that married a brownlee in Cambusnethan at least one of that family moved from Bathgate to Cambusnethan the distance is only 5 miles from Dalpatric where my ancester worked and married In the corect time frame as there family. They had a son born James Whitelaw born in the family at the same time as my GGGG Grandfather James.
Brian if I were you I would check the Whitelaw families that came from Cadder as well as Barony I am sure there has been a lot of research by someone in the L.D.S. on that area of Glasgow if my memory serves me well some of the Whitelaws in that area of glasgow in your time frame came from Old and New Monklands. In my research if I come up with anything that may be interesting to you I will post it on the Genforum G.W.
