Kimberly, do you know where one can obtain a copy of "The Whitehurst Family of Trentham" by Wesley F. Russell? I am descended from the Richard Whitehurst who went to NC. I have "Grandfather of Us All" but that doesn't really trace the family back to England. It is not clear to me how the William who was transported by Stafferton became the Richard who was granted land in 1648 for the transport of 5 persons. I have been unable to find anything that supports the statement that the "original patentee of the land is referred to as William Richard Whitehurst." Was he actually referred to that way in the actual patent? Any help you can give will be greatly appreciated. Lola
