Robert, I wonder if anyone knows the real truth. I'm still as confused as I've always been.

John Whitehurst left a will dated Jan. 1720 in which he names his wife Elizabeth, sons Gideon & Enoch, & daughter Mary. He says his wife is with child - this is the John born after the death of his father. He married Sarah Sharwood.

Now, John Carraway in his will dated 25 Jan. 1727 names his 3 daughters: Ann Whitehurst, Elizabeth Whitehurst, & Dinah Horsington.

To confuse the matter, John Carraway signed a deed of gift 2 Oct. 1717, to "my son-in-law John Whitehurst & my daughter Ann his now wife".

So, are we dealing with 2 different John Whitehursts here? Or what?
