Joel,
Elinor Whitehurst was the wife of Capt. John Nelson, Jr., her 2nd hus. Her 1st hus was Nathaniel Hall,Jr, 3rd husband was John Berry. Nathaniel died in 1734 and named two sons, Joseph and Benjamin in his will. When est was settled in 1757 in Craven County Benjamin and Miriam Hall were listed as his children. Don't know if Joseph died or received his portion earlier. There were several Joseph Halls in Craven. Benjamin Hall died ca. 1771, children named in est. records were Joseph,, Oliver, Duran, Harty Hall, and Elizabeth Hall. Benjamin Hall's wid mar. John Biggs, Jr. Joseph Hall made his will in 1786, d.1787, unmarried. Oliver Hall mar. Mary Fulsher in 1788. Durham Hall,(youngest child) m. Sarah Wise in 1793. Harty Hall m. 1st John Nelson (his 2nd wife), gr. son of Capt. John Nelson, Jr., and 2nd m. Francis Delamar, Sr. (his 2nd wife). Elizabeth Hall m. Thomas Delamar, son of Francis Delamar, Sr., in 1789, d. before 1804. Are you a descendant of Robt. Whitehurst? From your name am guessing you are of Carteret Co. Can email me at annohmsen@aol.com.
