Thank you so much for the information you sent on William WHITEHURST (b.1826 Virginia). I knew he had an earlier marriage but I had no details. I would appreciate any information you could share with me regarding his first marriage to Mary Amelia CAMPBELL and their family. I haven't found any information for the years prior to 1870 when he shows up in the 1870 Census in Washington County with his wife Arrora.

As for the spelling of Arrora, I found it on different documents as Arrora, Arora, Annie, Rora, and Aurora. She and William are buried at the Mary Moore Cemetery in Clay, TX (Burleson County). William died before 1900 and Arrora had died by 1907. Also buried there is his daughter, Lillie Mae McMINN (my grandmother, 28-10 on your numbering system) who died Nov, 1921 and one of daughters Mittie Lee McMINN died about 1918 at age 8. The cemetery is located between Farm road 1351 and Farm Road 50 on road 434, an old road leading to Clay. The cemetery is located on private property way back off the road. It has an old iron fence around it, however, the cattle have knocked over some of the fencing and stones. It is completely overgrown with tall trees and bushes. In 1993 my Uncle and Aunt took me there but it was so thick with underbrush you couldn't get to the stones to read them. It made me heartsick to see its condition.

I stay in contact with one of the grandchildren of Finnie WHITEHURST (28-11). She lives in Rhode Island.

You seemed to have much information on George W. WHITEHURST (28-6). My Mother lived with their family after her mother died in 1921. My Mother passed away in 1968. This was before I became interested in genealogy I'm sorry to say.

I will be more than happy to share any information I have with you. Looking forward to hearing from you. Mary
