Dear Lisa,
Our branch of Whitehursts have been Californians since the 1860s, living in San Jose, Santa cruz, Gilroy, Los Gatos, and a place called Willow Glen after my GGrandDads' home, "The Willows". He planted the first prune and apricot orchards in the Santa Clara Valley. That was Joel Shipp Whitehurst,
Supervisor in San Jose, CA. His brother was Lyttleton Albert Whitehurst, who was a supervisor in Gilroy, CA. their house is a landmark in Gilroy now.
Which Whitehursts do you belong to? Our branch is from John Whitehurst from Staffordshire, England who arrived in Princess Anne Co., VA in 1609.
Happy hunting! I'd love to hear from you.
Anne Whitehurst
