Pat,
I have Zebulon Vance Whitehurst, Jr. married to Hilda Nelson on Sept. 24, 1939. Hilda was born on Jan. 5, 1920. Hilda's parents were Frank Augusta Nelson and Eva Rae Wetherington. Is this your aunt & uncle?
I have not been able to trace Vance's parents, but with his first name I am betting there is a relation with the Zebulon Montgomery Whitehurst line.
Do you have any other info?
