There is a Whitehurst family cementary at the edge of a field on Hwy 17 north of Elizabeth City. There is a Benjamin F. Whitehurst with those dates and wife. I don't know how they are relaited to the other Whitehurst in that cementary.
My aunt copied some information from a Whitehurst family Bible. "Frederick Whitehurst son of William and Wlizabeth Whitehurst was born March 15, 1769 died May 8, 1843. Sarah Burnam wife of Frederick Whitehurst was born Sept 15, 1762 died Jan 28, 1832" From the Camden Co. deeds I found that Sarah was the widow of John Richardson and that she and Frederick moved to Pasquotank Co about 1807. Going back to the information my aunt copied - Their sons were Elliott born in 1792, Keelon born in 1798 and Luton (or Calab Luton) born in 1800. Elliott's wife was Nancy Wood. Keelon married Sarah Pritchard and Luton married Lydia Sawyer. Luton had a son named Elliott who was born in 1845. Elliott, the son of Frederick had several children including Charlotte and Catherine. Catherine married Ira Pearce from South Mills. Charlotte married F. A. Brothers and had a daughter Addie Brothers who married her mother's cousin Elliott the son of Luton. Most of those burried in that cementary are decended from Elliot and Addie Brothers Whitehurst. I don't know what children Caleb Luton Whitehurst might have had besides Elliott and I don't know what children Keelon might have had. I am not even sure about the other children of Elliott the son of Frederick although I think he had a son Frederick who went to Texas and a daughter Lizzie and another daughter. One was married to an Overman.
