Yes, this is a possibility. I have a James Whitehurst born 1803 (no date of death available) who married a Nancy (last name not available, dates of birth, date & marriage not available or previous wife not available. I show this James and Nancy with the following offspring:
Thomas Whitehurst, born 1831
Caroline Whitehurst, born 1839
Love Whitehurst, born 1836
I L Whitehurst, born 1839
Winfield Whitehurst, born 1848

Do any of these names fit into your puzzle? If so, please let me know because I might possibly have misapplied James as a grandson of Dinah.
