I have been working on my Dunn family, and just found out from my aunt that my gg-grandmother's name was Whitehurst. I have not proved this at this time. I have not gotten a marriage license for Arjincy & Elijah. I found them in Beaufort, NC where they sold their land in Sept. 1836. I found them on the 1850 census in Hickman County, Tenn. Elijah is with the son on the 1860 census. Argincy was in Lawrence County, Ark., where she is on the 1860 Mortality Schedule as having died in Aug. Her daughter Argincy Dunn, Roberts, Cosgrove my g-grandmother, was living in Lawrence County, Ark. at that time. I don't know if she went to visit and died or what happened at this time.
So many of the names are familier from the Whithurst list's. They had a son Hillery on the 1850 census on the 1860 he is called Richard. I found Elijah on the 1830 census in Beaufort, NC two names above him is a Hill Whitehurst. I will have to go to the genealogy library to check and see if they sold property in the same area as Elijah Dunn. I have Elijah on 1820 census. Elijah, Argincy, Argincy, James C. & Hillery were b. in NC I assume in the Beaufort area.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. email@example.com
